ABOUT THE SERVER:

The Vortex SMP is a modded, factions-based SMP built to be played with other people. With over 150 mods, you're sure to never run out of things to do. We picked these mods by hand, trying to retain a fantasy/steampunk feel to the game. The base Minecraft version is set to 1.19.2, and we will not be changing it, We can, however, change what mods are in the pack. If you ask one of the admins, or the owner of the server, we're sure to honestly consider adding or removing some mods to the server, if your reasoning is valid.

ECONOMY:

Using the Lightman's Currency mod, we are able to create and use a coin-based currency of varying values to exchange for good and services from other players. Many players have full-time shops. Near the spawn area, you may find a small building. That small building is one of our player's shops, Cosmic. Cosmic can help you in all sorts of ways. He sells decent gear, if you have the funds necessary to purchase it, and he also sells carious items like food, potions, or artifacts. Cosmic can help you throughout your time here in the server, not just at the start. Using the Tetra mod, Cosmic can forge you stronger and stronger weapons as you grow into them, so long as you bring him the materials necessary.

The Origins mod, paired with several other Origins addons, gives you the opportunity to be born as something unique, whether you wish to take to the skies, walk through walls, or take a dip in the Nether Sea.

-Create
Create, paired with several addon mods, allows you to build complex contraptions, from cuckoo clocks to giant world-eating mechs.

-Farmers' Delight
Indulge yourself in a vast expanse of recipes, from hamburgers to literal magma drinks! Many foods give buffs, and you can find and cook an Eternal Steak, so you never run out of food!

SO HOW DO I JOIN?

To join, please join our Discord Server (Linked at the top of this post) and fill out the application in #applications! Once you've done that, an admin will let you know how to join the server, download the modpack, etc.

Event:

In less than a month, we will be hosting a public arena tournament! All personal gear is allowed, including health boosts, totems on undying, and other various charms. Abilities from the Origins mod will be restricted, as to make the tournament more fair to all players. The arena we will be hosting the tournament in has already been built, so come check it out!

Something SMP

Hello all! We are currently looking for mildly to extremely active players to join the Minecraft server known as the Something SMP! We have lore/roleplay on a modded server (mods of which include origins, image to map, enderite, claims, voice chat, and discord integrations, just to name a few).

However, it is NOT a requirement to be apart of the lore if you just want to play on the server!! Just a heads up though, there are a few people on the server who do stream, so if you're uncomfortable with appearing on livestream that's something to note.

You can go into #applications to submit an application, and you can read more via the pinned message in #Something SMP info (It is required to join the discord server, as it has the custom modpack, server announcements and the rules of the server, this process also reduces the number of griefers and trolls).

If you have any questions about the server, or anything related to that, feel free to ask me or any other staff member. We are happy to answer any queries you may have! You can do so on the discord server or here in the comments. Some other things to note include:

  • This is a java server, with no plans for bedrock to be included at this stage.
  • We have our end & nether reset every few months, so new players don’t have to spend as long hunting for nether & end items.
  • The server owner is on GMT+8, so feedback regarding your application may be slow depending on your timezone.
  • Most staff members are also on GMT+8, so applications may be slow depending on when it’s submitted.
  • This season's lore cut-off point has already passed, so you won't be able to join lore this season, but you can still join next season's lore. (temp dot point deleted after s3 has ended)

GG is a server of, as the name implies, Grownup Gamers – most of whom have known each other for many years, and many of whom have met up IRL! We host and play a (mostly) vanilla Minecraft survival server, but we are known to dabble in some fun party games on weekends occasionally. While we require all members to be 18 and above, most of our active player base are well into their 30s and 40s, have jobs and/or families, and have the kind of lives that don’t magically refill by eating raw cod.

In terms of our Minecraft SMP, we’ve got a little bit of everything! From amazing builders (no, seriously, we have some amazing builders!), creative artistsmega-farmers, chill adventurers, redstone wizardsand all-around shenanigan-lovers.Our diversity of playstyle and talent guarantees you’ll find inspiration around every corner and meet other people who share your interests.

We have absolutely zero tolerance for bigotry, drama, -isms, and outright negativity towards any player for any reason. It’s super simple!

First, hop over to our Discord server (linked below) and look around. Feel free to introduce yourself! Our mods and staff are always happy to welcome you and help you get around.

From there, you’ll need to submit a whitelist ticket. Once we can be sure you’ve had a good read of our rules (and, you know, have mastered basic reading comprehension!), we’ll be happy to pop you onto the whitelist, and you’ll be ready to go, just like that! If any staff member or helper is available in-game when you log on, we’d be happy to give you a quick tour of our spawn area, shopping district, and show you where you can get started on your adventure.

The server operates on a Safezone-Borderlands system, where a continuously expanding 4k-radius area centred on spawn has claims, graves and disallows (unless with consent) griefing, killing and stealing. THE ORIGINS MOD!

We have a very special mod, the Origins mod! Along with the 9 base origins, we have roughly 61 custom origins, all carefully reviewed so that we can make sure each one is balanced, unique and well designed! You can even suggest custom origins, but it'll have to be high quality. Of course, if you don't like this mod, or don't like your current origin, you can always pick Human or use your free three changes/craft an origin change.

TrekCraft is not an ordinary server. Here at TC we have a friendly community that takes part in events every week and staff that will help you through any situation. We have a large number of game-enhancing plugins, including Towny, McMMO, Mythic Mobs with great custom bosses, ArtMap for creating custom artworks, Jobs, chest shops, crates, auctions and auction house, quests, treasure hunts, business partnerships, etc! These plugins help players have the best experience, whether it's having fun with friends, working hard to level skills or trying to build the best town. Our staff also hosts events like trivia (all with items obtained legitimately), weekly contests and competitions!

We're family friendly, so keep the chat appropriate for children: no swearing, or discussion of inappropriate behavior allowed.When you find yourself on TrekCraft you feel like you are part of the family, and that's exactly what we want you to feel. We've been around for over 9 years, so you can trust us to last! We reset for 1.18 and expanded our map for 1.19 and 1.20, so there's plenty of fresh territory. We'll expand it again for 1.21.

We're a no raiding, no griefing server. We rarely have a problem, but in the event of grief, our staff will happily roll it back for you. PvP is off in the wilds, but you can turn it on in your town or go to the arenas if you want. Vanilla SMP:

A semi-vanilla smp experience with no p2w bs and just focusses on having
fun playing the game itself! There are no land claiming yet and we’re
currently semi-anarchy.

We’re open to feedback from the community but we are looking for old
school vibes for this server without the stomach churning of modern day
servers (OP ranks, loot crates etc). We just want a classic, less hands
on approach for players to just enjoy playing old school style of SMP!

TRASH PVP (IN-DEVELOPMENT)

Trash PvP is our Hardcore, Lifesteal, PvP Server. It’s main focus is to
blend elements of a traditional Hardcore SMP with Lifesteal. We also do
our best to encourage PvP with certain features of the server. Like
constantly rotating out the PVP Map every 30-60 days and placing a cap
on the world border! Don’t worry: your persistent storage (enderchests,
vaults/backpacks etc), money balances etc are safe during map resets.
Your bases, items in physical chests etc are NOT however. The PVP worlds
will have a small worldborder between 500×500 – 1,500×1,500 blocks!

HELL SMP (IN-DEVELOPMENT):

You’ll start off as a slave in hell, playing much like a prison server
but don’t worry it’s not too hard to work your way up to “freedom”. When
we say freedom, we use that term very loosely 😂 as there is no
overworld or end dimensions on the server. You’re in hell afterall.
You’ve already lived your best life and failed to come out of it a
descent human being. You’re stuck in eternal damnation and the best you
can do is try to live out an eternity as best as you can in hell.

You’ll feel pain, in fact pain is enhanced in hell. You’ll be able to
die but you’ll always come back! Not only will you have to deal with
hard hostile mobs and hardened other members of hell but you’ll always
be in a constant battle with the heat! You’ll have to find and craft
ways to keep your body temperature down.

FROSTBITE (IN-DEVELOPMENT):

Frostbite is an ambitious project by me to feed all the masochists out
there in the world with a brutally challenging hardcore survival server
experience. Something a bit different from other SMP servers. There will
be several custom plugins developed for this project!

Some overall differences with this project:

Temperature system

You’ll now get cold/hot depending on what biome you’re in and what
clothes/armor you’re wearing. Most of this server will be a winter
hellscape so good luck on being hot :p

Elements protection:

Each armors set (leather, iron, gold, copper, diamond & netherite) provides different levels of protection.

There are also custom hats and items that will help you combat the cold elements like our cute wool hats ❤️

Nighttime

During nighttime the environment temperature tends to get lower and
during day a tad bit higher. For full immersion we can detect strong
heat sources (campfire, fire, lava, magma blocks) and weak (lantern,
torch) to better adjust the impact of surrounding temperatures on the
player. We can also provide slight boosts to your core body temperature
when holding certain blocks in your main or off-hand!

In cold areas (most of the world), shelters provide additional
protection against cold, and tend to stabilize the player’s body
temperature (but you will need to heat the space with a heat source such
as furnace or campfire etc). In hot biomes, shelters tend to protect
players against the sun. In this world however, you shouldn’t really
find any hot biomes 😉

Rain & Snow

To provide even MORE immersion, during rain players will get wet. If
his/her clothes soak up, then protection against cold shall be lowered,
but against heat increased. So it’s a semi-intelligent and immersive
system 😛 HOWEVER when it’s freezing temperatures there is no rain, ONLY
SNOW!

Body Temperature

If your body temperature gets too low you’ll start getting certain
status effects like slowness, your hunger will drain more quickly and
much more. If it gets too low you’ll begin taking damage. Use clothing,
armor, items and heat sources to get your body temperature up!

Location & Elevation Matters

Caves and underground is a bit warmer than the surface level. High
elevation such as mountains and cliffs are colder than the surface
level. Near oceans and rivers will be a bit colder as well due to the
lake effect!

One Block:

Traditional one block experience but…. WITH FRIENDS! You can invite others to join you on your oneblock journey!
