ABOUT THE SERVER:

The Vortex SMP is a modded, factions-based SMP built to be played with other people. With over 150 mods, you're sure to never run out of things to do. We picked these mods by hand, trying to retain a fantasy/steampunk feel to the game. The base Minecraft version is set to 1.19.2, and we will not be changing it, We can, however, change what mods are in the pack. If you ask one of the admins, or the owner of the server, we're sure to honestly consider adding or removing some mods to the server, if your reasoning is valid.

ECONOMY:

Using the Lightman's Currency mod, we are able to create and use a coin-based currency of varying values to exchange for good and services from other players. Many players have full-time shops. Near the spawn area, you may find a small building. That small building is one of our player's shops, Cosmic. Cosmic can help you in all sorts of ways. He sells decent gear, if you have the funds necessary to purchase it, and he also sells carious items like food, potions, or artifacts. Cosmic can help you throughout your time here in the server, not just at the start. Using the Tetra mod, Cosmic can forge you stronger and stronger weapons as you grow into them, so long as you bring him the materials necessary.

-Origins
The Origins mod, paired with several other Origins addons, gives you the opportunity to be born as something unique, whether you wish to take to the skies, walk through walls, or take a dip in the Nether Sea.

-Create
Create, paired with several addon mods, allows you to build complex contraptions, from cuckoo clocks to giant world-eating mechs.

-Farmers' Delight
Indulge yourself in a vast expanse of recipes, from hamburgers to literal magma drinks! Many foods give buffs, and you can find and cook an Eternal Steak, so you never run out of food!

SO HOW DO I JOIN?

To join, please join our Discord Server (Linked at the top of this post) and fill out the application in #applications! Once you've done that, an admin will let you know how to join the server, download the modpack, etc.

Event:

In less than a month, we will be hosting a public arena tournament! All personal gear is allowed, including health boosts, totems on undying, and other various charms. Abilities from the Origins mod will be restricted, as to make the tournament more fair to all players. The arena we will be hosting the tournament in has already been built, so come check it out!

Right off the bat I want say, this is a home hosted server, so expect a few small hiccups with the server from time to time, although it runs pretty well. Right now, the server is in its early stages, we don’t have many active players. I’ve been promoting it though my small YouTube channel, Gordon Dreaming. At the moment I have 110 subscribers. If you want to be a part of a growing channels community, this might be what you’re looking for. I stream on the server quite often. Right, I should talk about the server now. So, this is a Faction Roleplaying SMP server, meaning that you create a faction, do things like going to war for example. You roleplay while having social interaction with other members. The faction plugin we use is Medieval Factions. A good faction plugin all around. We also have chest shops; chest shops allow you to sell items in chest. Last notable plugin we have is Dynmap, a website that host a 2D view of the server world. We have a lot more plugins and I’m always adding. So, if all of this seems fun, why not give the server a shot? Maybe even become a part of the small community by joining the discord! Lastly don’t expect a lot from the server.

Eternal Abyss SMP is running 1.20. The goal is to build a community of loyal members who are looking to survive and thrive and build new friendships along the way.

Be Polite & Respectful. Harassment, racism or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated on this server. Remember the minimum age for this server is 13 and everyone is to be made to feel welcome.
Griefing and Stealing will not be tolerated! You will be immediately banned and we will roll the server back.
Travel at least 500 blocks away from spawn before building a base.

If there is something specific you would like to build at spawn please get permission from a staff member first.

PVP is fine providing both parties are consenting to it. All items except for the player head must be returned to the defeated afterwards.How to get whitelisted:

Go to the apply channel in the Eternal Abyss SMP discord and type “/apply” select “application:” then select “Whitelist application”.
You will then be prompted with the application. Click on the “Click me” link and answer the questions provided. Once your application for whitelist has been approved you will have access to the Whitelist channels as well as the server.
