its been a problem ever since minecraft servers have been initiated,
players with netherite walking around, with the end completed in less than 2 hours, and everyone miles ahead of you. And you… just a basic player with no more than stone tools and a shield.

This…
This is a horrible feeling, the feeling that you wont be able to catch up, or that theres nothing left to do, a feeling of empty accomplishment. Its such an unencouraging feeling that youll leave the server and hunt down servers that have just started, just to experience the drive for completion, and most the times, you wont find it, and for the ones that you do? Youll get bored in less than a week

Is there a solution? Probably not, but there may be alternatives
Lineage
This idea popped in my head after joining a minecraft server that had been open for less than a week, and seeing giant sculptures and everyone decked with netherite armor. I had no idea what to do as everything had been monopolized and everything was completed, nothing left.
This idea is what i call Lineage
Every day a vote will happen to reset the server, if the vote is successful, a shrine near spawn will have a beacon light appear from it, and specific abilities and items can be passed through the light, to affect your next life

Tyrants? Monopolization? Riches? All of these are possible except Immortality, even if you manage to get these your life is not infinite, and the imbalance that your character has against others will be one day balanced, giving everyone an equal shot at power and control.

What you just read was new and upcoming server being created and refined as we speak, pretty soon it will be up and completely ready to play, if any experienced minecraft server creators wanna hop in and give tips and such through the discord, i suggest you go ahead, i wont sugercoat it, i have little experience when it comes to creating servers, but i felt as though my idea should be expressed regardless, if you join the discord youll be put on a whitelist and ill alert you on the progress of the server, and allow everyone to put suggestions into the server such as plugins, but the base idea is that freedom should be favored, griefing, pvp, stealing, is all allowed due to the limited nature of Lineage, of course hacking isnt tolerable in any circumstance, and you will have dire repercussions, grouping and uniting is encouraged, and a moral line is enforced by the players when they feel people who are doing destructive things are going too far. one last thing is that there is in fact an opportunity to reset each day, you shouldnt use that as a reason not to join, as most likely players will unite and a vote like this will be handled as a group when the majority of said group feel as though the game has become boring. Rew1nd Modded War is a Modded Minecraft server where you are placed randomly in a world and have to fight for survival against both the elements of nature and rivals. It is a PvP SMP server where your goal is to not die. Depending on the rivals you encounter you could run into someone with a Glock or you could run into someone with a nuke. You have to grind to survive and your best ally will be the darkness. If you are hidden you can’t be conquered or robbed, but if they find you… You can either play solo or with teams, you are allowed to join a team as long as they invite you. Teams can consist of up to five players (always changing) and solos are well solo. If you like adventure, PvP, survival, and grinding then this server is for you. Custom Dimensions (NO MODS REQUIRED):
Sculk (Deep Deep Dark) – If you successfully kill the Warden, it will drop a key that can be used to activate the portal in the center of the city. Upon entering you will end up in a new mysterious world filled with sculk and decayed/corrupted biomes. This is the most dangerous place on the server as sculk sensors and shriekers are everywhere and multiple Wardens can spawn. The little camps and structures around the world have custom mobs in them which can one hit kill you similar to the Warden if you’re not wearing good armor. They’re like the mobs found in mansions but stronger. The air is also toxic in this world and you slowly become “corrupted” which adds negative potion effects to your character. At 70% you will start to die from poison, at 90% you will get withered, at 100% you must die to remove the effects even if you escape back to overworld.

Teleportation, flying, and town claiming are disabled in this world. You must find a naturally spawned portal to return back to overworld. Coordinates in the Sculk world mirror that of the overworld.

Why would anyone want to visit this place? There are some rare items which can only be obtained in the sculk dimension. Special totems which give effects indefinitely similar to beacons (regen, resist, water breathing, etc) as long as you hold it in your hand. A sword which gives you as many hearts as the Warden and a sword which allows you to move really REALLY fast. The sculk dimension is also a great place to hide stuff from other players.

Aether – Making a portal out of glowstone and activating it with a water bucket will send you to a sky dimension.

Super Amplified – A place you can visit to build and see epic mountains and world generation similar to old minecraft farlands.

Gameplay dynamics

PvP is enabled everywhere on the server except certain admin claims (like spawn) and home/core chunks, regardless of a town’s settings. All towns only get 1 chunk which has pvp disabled which is the H. This is to encourage castle building.

Friendly fire pvp is only disabled for members in the same town and not nationwide nor allies. This is to encourage discipline and honor systems between towns within the same nation and allies. As a town misbehaving within a nation can cause them to be kicked from their nation and lose protection on chunks.
–
A player may purchase invincibility from PvP for $1M for 24 hours. Useful if you want to be left alone regardless of where you are on the server. Keep in mind that this will NOT work upon visiting admin created special dungeons or certain dimensions. You will not be able to attack any players until the 24 hours has passed. Also does not protect you from mobs.

Chests and most storage blocks can be opened regardless of a town’s settings. This is to encourage players to actually protect their stuff instead of leaving it out in the open. Viacraft’s goal is to make gameplay somewhat realistic.

Town residents have the ability to fly by typing /tfly by default all town residents have access to this a mayor can disable this though. Allies (and of course enemies and outlaws) do not have /tfly in your town, however mayors and viziers can trust a person with flight in their town. VIA rank, although they have the ability to fly anywhere, they are NOT allowed to fly in towns that aren’t apart of or trusted in. Please report abuse to staff.

This is to encourage building great things while also maintaining fairness in PvP. As I want walls to be effective and players not be required to put a roof/ceiling on everything.

Towns only get 10-20 claim chunks by default and does not change regardless of residents or monetary status. Once a town creates or joins a nation the amount of chunks a town can claim increases substantially; 100 chunks and then increases based on how many residents you have. This is to encourage competitive gameplay as FlagWar does not allow nationless towns to attack or be attacked. Towns can purchase neutrality which makes them invincible to being war flagged for $100K a day. Nations can purchase neutrality for $10M a day, the price is high because this protects ALL towns within the nation regardless if the town itself paid for neutrality. This encourages taxes and grinding/farming.

All towns within a nation have wilderness around them protected by about 2-5 chunks. Residents of the town and nation will be able to do stuff within these chunks as normal but outsiders will not be able to do much of anything. This is called NationZone or NZ. Nation capitals will have larger NZ.

World and dimension borders
Overworld, Nether, End, and Sculk are 100K by 100K. This will be increased to 1m, 5m, and 10m depending upon the playerbase growth.

Gameplay Features
Weapon cooldowns
Because most people disliked the 1.9 combat update due to this change, Viacraft has restored hit cooldowns back to their pre-1.9 state.

Dual-wielding
You can use items like swords and pickaxes in your offhand just like in your dominate hand. Mojang should have done it this way instead, because fighting someone with 2 swords is cool. So Viacraft made it possible.

Notch Apples
Enchanted Golden Apples are craftable again on Viacraft with 8 gold blocks. Notch apples are also given a little buff from their default potion effects.

Ever wanted to go back in time to the old Prison PVP servers? Where the grind doesn’t stop, and isn’t P2W? A huge prison map with plenty of pvp zone and safe zones with Red and Green lines to symbolize both respectively. Once you progress through the prison enough you can even rent spaces for shops and even rent cells to store your items and safely smelt ores.

Etherrath is a no-reset SMP server that focuses on worldbuilding and community. We focus on long term engagement and Mega builds.

While the server is modded, the main focus is on and the Create mod to add movement and different forms of animation to your builds, and Tinkers Construct to help with resource gathering. While roleplay is not a huge focus of the server, we do run the Origins mod with custom Origins and have a log where notable server achievments are archived.

The server has been private and whitelisted for a number of years, and have recently decided to open up an search for more members.

If you are familiar with the Hermitcraft server or the Empires server, and are interesting in joining something similar, then this could be the server you are looking for..

This server is specifically looking for long term-players who are comfortable investing a lot of time in a single world. To this extent, we are looking for builders and role-players that want to tell a story with their builds and add their lore to the server.

This is a small community looking for new members! We have JUST relaunched with a brand new updated server world on January 14th, 2023 for our “Warden Towny” Server!

We use Towny, a plugin similar to factions, but with a focus on communities and building. You will need to avoid death at all possible costs, however! Otherwise, you will be randomly teleported when you respawn after death. This makes game play exciting when playing with other server members, and will force you to make the tough decisions necessary for surviving the wilderness. This, and the fact that we don’t have other teleporting options on this server, make it a great place for solo players to join. So, explore out into our vast and growing world, and find others to work with that you may not have met before!

This server has **No Monetization**, so you cannot pay to win here. Even our staff play by the same rules as everyone else, so everyone is an equal here.
