The Club SMP is an 18+ vanilla Minecraft server started in early 2022 with the goal of uniting a community of friends using Minecraft as a medium. HARDWARE & SETUP

Alongside our amazing community, we also boast a fully self-hosted dedicated machine for the server, running modern blazing-fast hardware topped off with carefully tweaked server-sided optimization mods. This ensures minimal impact of lag while maintaining vanilla parity and allows our players to focus on what matters the most: gameplay. Welcome to the Shacknews Middle School!

Shacknews Middle School is an old school SMP server formed around the Shacknews gaming community. Our gaming community has been around since the late 90s.  We’re looking for other like minded adults to join our server!

Our community has been running a Minecraft server since the Minecraft Alpha days in 2010.  Our server is PvE focused mostly on building projects/bases, redstone farms and just general playing Minecraft with friends, we’re all pretty laid back here.  We don’t do server economies or shopping districts, usually shared farms in community areas, ect…  Pretty much a vanilla server here, no P2W, server boosting, ranks or anything like that on this server.  However this year for 1.21.x we decided to try out mods, our server had been strictly vanilla for years so we thought it would be a nice change of pace!

Our server is currently running a custom-made Fabric Modpack on Java v1.21.1. The modpack could basically be categorized as Vanilla++ with some good QoL mods and a few storage & tech mods thrown in! The world on our server was reset around the release of 1.21, so the world is semi-fresh. There is some development around spawn, but most of the world is pretty much untouched.

In the past we usually reset the world for our server on every major Minecraft release for a fresh start.  Contingent on there being major changes that warrant a world reset.  With Mojang recently announcing they’re moving to smaller, more frequent updates. We’ll have to evaluate that when content drops come out and take a vote.

Axondria

The land of the past, where everything resembles the look of xbox legacy edition. Currently the biggest nation, it pushes for uniting the community, or doing whatever is funniest.

Nubrax

A developing cityscape, with a giant castle to boast. National pride runs deep here, as whoever stays becomes deeply loyal to the Queen.

Aurelias

The quietest nation, it is the 'world spawn'. Renowned for its beauty, it holds a lot of potential for its development. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Axondria has taken control of Aurelias' land, in a quoted "unhostile hostile take over".

Created by the community, these nations can lead the way forwards in an uneasy new world. Will you join one, or create your own?

Only happening twice a season, we are temporarily open to the public! This will hopefully introduce new faces to keep things fun. However, we are not strictly boosted by growth, instead relying on the dedication of the community. As a result, when we reach a certain number of new players, the server will convert back to private (invite friends-of-friends only) again.
