The main theme of The Mousetrap is scarcity. At the start of the server (6/9/24) a world border of 500 x 500 blocks was set, and with every hour that passes the radius of the world border expands by 1 block. This forces players into close quarters with each other and creates scarcity in non-renewable items like diamonds and iron, and also makes open space and farmland more difficult to come by. As a result, the economy of items is much more interesting than it would be if you could easily obtain resources by walking a thousand blocks in one direction. It also encourages building tall instead of wide, so expect some skyscrapers once the server gets going. The only real rules on this server have to do with hacking or cheating, theft and killing is allowed, however our plugin system, mainly Lands, allow players to easily claim small sections of land to protect themselves, their possessions, and their builds. As your lands become more developed, you can form nations and even declare war on other lands. The server also uses Essentials Economy, with a diamond standard ($1 = 1d, you can exchange one for the other at any time). We are a predominantly adult (18+) community who enjoy stories, lore, folktales, mythology, sci-fi and mini-games/events which we work into our builds, books and NPCS when we use them. If you are an adult Minecrafter, RPGer or Interactive Fiction enthusiast looking for a mature gaming community, you might find our style interesting.

Come visit us at cubehaven.mc.gg with your Java Client but apply first at http://minecraft.cianaodh.com/apply-for-minecraft-server/ .We began work on this new world in August of 2023 and are currently running PaperMC for version 1.20.1 but we use ViaVersion and ViaBackwards so any client should be able to join. We’ve been around as a community since about 2017 and have had other worlds which are archived and sometimes made accessible via multi-verse.

We might be old but we still have game.

Even though we’ve been around awhile, we still have much work to do on this world and are in the early stages on a lot of projects, so, some things are still very primitive. We work on it a bit every day and have big plans for the future. You’re welcome to come along for the ride if you wish.

Most of our players are either adults or the teenage offspring of our adult players. PLEASE BE 18 OR OLDER TO JOIN or 13 and older with a parent or guardian member who can vouch for you. All players must behave maturely to remain as our content is of a mature nature but not x rated by any means. We run in survival mode with hard difficulty level but enjoy a casual atmosphere and laid back community.

Our players like to build shopping districts, towns and nations. We encourage cooperative gameplay and interaction between the players. We do allow PvP outside of the build zones for those who prefer a little Anarchy but our main focus is on community, economy and storytelling to go along with our building projects.

Our server runs several plugins for game enhancement including Mythic Mobs, Grief Prevention, McMMO and Citizens 2 NPCs among others. For a full list, please see our website at the link below. Hi! You’re tired of multiplayer servers where everyone makes a base far from everyone else and the server becomes inactive after just a few weeks?

ExpandingCraft is your solution!

The concept: we started with a very small world border and gradually expand it.

For each expansion new members are recruited who can join in and build in the middle of everything that existed in previous expansions. We’re a tight knit group with community projects and shared resources!

Starting border: 65×65 (4×4 chunks)

1st expansion: 129×129 (+2 chunks all around)

2nd expansion: 289×289 (+5 chunks all around)

3rd expansion (week 3): 545×545 (+8 chunks all around)

4th expansion (week 5): 865×865 (+10 chunks all around)

5th expansion: 1185×1185 (+10 chunks all around)

6th expansion: 1505×1505 (+10 chunks all around)
