Retrograde Survival was born out of CranberryJuice”s desire to make a community-based semi-vanilla survival server with unique perks like shops, currency, and ranks. Cranberry Juice made and still runs a classic vanilla survival server, and the idea for Retrograde Survival grew out of this original community. After achieving great success establishing an amazing group of players / friends on the vanilla server, he wanted to create a place for a larger, semi-vanilla community of players. The name comes from the recent Minecraft ‘renaissance’ of players who began playing Minecraft years ago, now dusting off their pickaxes and playing the game again. We want the server to be a throwback to the good ol’ days of the Minecraft community, and the amazing servers they produced. HorizonParks is a 1:1 scale recreation of Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts, with a twist that makes us stand out from other theme park servers. The catch? All of our theme park recreations are from past versions of the particular park, as well as complete recreations of vintage/retro and original attractions that no longer operate today. Starting in November of 2016, HorizonParks has been growing ever since with the addition of new attractions and experiences that can only be found on the HorizonParks Network!
The staff team on HorizonParks spends hours every day, dedicated to bring the vision of the past back to life for all to relive! Our team uses actual blueprints from the original attractions as well as hours of research to make the magic happen. If you want a large, player-filled server where you have no clue who over 90% of the people are- Vortexel is NOT the server for you.
We are a small community, just like the way servers were before the age of the super-servers. We offer plenty of fun things to do around spawn, such as a fully automated Connect 4 machine or totally massive VDM (Vortexel Dance Machine)! Spawn is full of stuff to do, and even some easter eggs- free prizes if you can locate their hiding spot!
We do NOT offer buycraft, where one can buy items/ranks and become more overpowered, no, we believe in a fair game. One faction can be the most powerful one day and reduced to rubble the next, just by everyday players like you and me.
As for gameplay, we run Minecraft version 1.10.2, complete with economy, factions, and signshops! Money can get fueled in often and quickly, so I, Thundermagnet, your server admin, have created a HUGE event that only takes place at maximum once a month… The Vortexel Auctions at the Auction House! At these auctions, it is not uncommon to have insanely good items going at insanely high prices. No worries, there are plenty of ways to get money!
If auctions are not your cup of tea, might I recommend visiting the server casino? We have games stuffed with huge prizes! You can even win an elytra!
