We have just kicked off season three of Handcraft.

Handcraft was originally created as a love letter to the early 2010s era of multiplayer Minecraft. A simpler time that me and many others have fond memories of. Since our launch earlier this year we have fostered a small following of players who share this vision.

Our aim is to create a challenging and rewarding environment that empowers the community to play together and collaborate. The decisions we make tend to be the ones that encourage people to collaborate on projects with frequent server events and a thriving Discord community.

Although we have land claiming (GriefDefender) and economy (PhantomEconomy, QuickShop, Jobs Reborn) we try and maintain a vanilla-like feel. The ideal situation is that you should be able to reliably do anything on our server you could do in the base game.

I am the founder of Handcraft, but we also have a diverse moderation team that spans timezones across the globe to ensure there’s help on hand 24/7. I am personally based in London, and our beefy 20GB RAM/Ryzen 3600 server is hosted in Germany ensuring little server lag and incredible uptime.

LegacyCrafters is a community of players from across the world, though the server itself is based in Eastern USA. We try to keep our server fairly vanilla. Our community has 10-20 active players. Intro

Our server, Cold-Brew Java, is a java edition Minecraft Server. We are a small group with a 30 active member cap. We interview applicants to ensure a pleasant server experience for everyone and to keep out detrimental players. We’ve all been playing together for several months now, but every now and then a member has things to go do IRL, and we respect their decision to reduce their activity on the server. Currently we have several spots open due to some members having to take breaks from the server as mentioned above.

We are a survival community server, almost 100% vanilla. We are NOT a keep inventory server. We vote on all major server decisions together. We also have a shopping district (as we are very similar to Hermitcraft) and collaborate with each other on builds or projects quite often. We do have an auto chop plugin (I personally voted against this, and have it turned off because I don’t like it). Other than that, we have no game-play altering plugins. We do have some plugins to help with QOL such as low tool durability ping, wandering trader mini block and head trades, one player sleep, and more. Our rules are the following:

Rules

1. We treat each other with respect
2. Racism is not allowed
3. Griefing is strictly forbidden
4. Exploiting bugs or cheating is not allowed at all

And obviously if you try to be a smartass and bypass those rules by doing other cheaty things, you will get banned, as an infraction of any of those rules is an instaban with no warnings. This here is your only warning. Basically, if it feels like you shouldn’t be doing something, don’t do it. Ask us if you’re unsure.

We run on paper, and rarely does the TPS drop below 20. Because of this, we don’t have to have any lag limiting game play restrictions. For example, you’re not banned from making a guardian farm just because it’s laggy. We trust you will use your good judgement and do your part to not lag out the server for other players however, so don’t go overboard.

We have members that range from all abilities and passions in the game, from more technical players like farm builders, to more aesthetically gifted people who are good builders.

Again, we all trust each other here, and want to trust new members as well. We have an application process where you are interviewed. If the application committee is satisfied, they will allow you a week long trial where we will observe you on the server. At the end of the week, you’ll either make the cut and be accepted as a permanent, or you’ll be given the boot.

We are a curated Vanilla Minecraft experience, with a focus on building a community of like-minded players who want to enjoy Minecraft without crazy game-modes or plugins.

We are looking for like-minded players who want to have fun together without the hindrance of game modes. Players who seek just to play Minecraft in an environment where they do not have to worry about players or hackers ruining their time.

OUR Community

We are committed to providing a great semi-Vanilla Minecraft experience. We will never add any game modes (Towny, Factions, Mini-games etc) and we will never add anything which will fundamentally make the game different, easier or harder (mcMMO, rankings).

We are transparent about any issues that may arise such as dismissal of staff, banning of influential players and integrity changes to how the server functions.

Our Community Voice

We always pride ourselves on listening to our community. We welcome feedback and honest opinions any time and use it to make changes for the betterment of the player experience and community.

If we are ever going to make a change to our community, be it a new plugin, a config change, or anything that would affect the vanilla or community dynamic, it will be polled. Polled content/changes only take effect if the community votes at a 75% approval rating. If a poll fails, we look at why it fails and then make changes until most of our player-base are content.

We Love Working Together

The server was founded on this major principal to create a space for players to come together and play Minecraft without limitations set by game modes. So, this allows us to bring players together, we work on large projects such as shopping districts, minigames, mega builds… and also want to run exciting events such as Racing and PvP tournaments. Hi there, players!

We’re happy to announce the opening of our new whitelist-only server and community: Campfire SMP!

As we’re a relatively new server, we’re eagerly looking for players to join our passion project to assist with a few initial builds, the establishment of some public facilities for players to use (such as a library, shopping plots for players to build on) and to become apart of our growing community.

Despite being based in Australia, we have and will continue to openly welcome any person, unconditionally of their nationality, location, etc. We’re all apart of the same community.

We’re primarily focused on inviting a more mature player-base at this stage, as we’re mostly wanting like-minded folks to join. This isn’t so much a restriction as it is a preference, as we don’t want to discriminate based on age.

All applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and exceptions may be made (i.e. family joining with teenagers), or simply people just below the requested age.
