Welcome to The Gathering: Evolution
The Gathering is a unique RPG Minecraft experience, designed from the ground up by a dedicated developer. Inspired by the MUDs of old, The Gathering’s extensive set of features are all managed under a single cohesive interface and backend (called the Legends system), improving on the often-seen assortment of commonly used plugins. The Gathering aims to enhance basic minecraft gameplay with a full suite of RPG-focused features and tools:

Select from 8 unique breeds with their own skill progression and lore. Become a follower of one of the powerful Deities that shape reality.

Gain experience by killing monsters, mining, building, crafting, and just playing Minecraft.

Level up to unlock new skills and abilities. Progress high enough to unlock breed hybrids, raising the level cap and adding a second breed’s skills to your toolbox.

Bind your skills to items, and deck out your action bar with utility and lethality.

Commune with your breed’s Diety through prayer and sacrifice. Earn their favor and bounty.

Establish a home, using the custom Village system. Claim plots of land for protection, and allow friends and allies to share your space. Fly inside your claimed village plots.

Engage in all manner of role-playing, with proximity communication (/say, /yell, /whisper) and express yourself with emotes. Become a part of the lore.

Earn coin by slaying monsters. Set up your own item shops to trade goods and equipment with other players.

Beta Feature: Embark on epic quests with exciting finales and unique rewards.

Game World
The world of The Gathering is entirely custom-generated using the Terra system. The map is extensive, with over 120 new biomes, custom trees, structures, caves, and more. To see the complete world map, visit the dynmap at http://gatheringmc.com/.

Hostile monsters are generated with health/damage scaling based on their level. The further you get from the server spawn village, the greater the level of danger.

After about 6 months of slow but steady development we are finally launching our survival server.

Here is some of the plugins we are using:

Custom Enchantments
The name of the plugin is exactly what it is, custom enchants. Along with serveral custom op items we will be giving away in events through the year.

Greif Prevention
Although this plugin obviously help prevent greif, it allows players to claim regions with a golden shovel. As you build your maximum claim amount will grow and you can expand your base.

mcMMO
To improve the RPG experience of survival we added the imfamous mcMMO. Of course you have all 14 skills to train and level up in. As you level up you gain special abilites.

SilkSpawners
While this plugins functionlity is only available for donors who donate for the “Lord” rank, it allows the ability to silk touchspawners.

TimeIsMoney
We love when you guys play on our servers, and we would like to reward you for playing. For every minute you play in-game you are rewarded a specified amount of in-game money. (Does not work while afk.)

Newest Features:
Player Tracker and Jammer gadgets finished.
Spawning changed. Now you click a redstone block and teleport to a random place in the warzone. No more Spawn-Camping

Okay, what is so “advanced” you ask?

Well, it would take a while to go over the details, so let me give a summary.

You pick a melee weapon, a ranged weapon, a potion, and three gadgets.

Melee weapons consist of swords, battleaxes, anything close-range.

Ranged weapons are things such as bows, fireballs, concussion balls, etc.

Potions are self explanatory you can give yourself a buff such as speed or fireresistance in combat.

Gadgets are where things get a little more complex. Items ranging from cloaking devices, player trackers and detectors, to even teleporters. The gadgets are what really define who you are, and what you will be doing in combat.

— The server is a big work in progress. Plugins are custom made, so the server will be updated semi-frequently. As much as a few times a day, to once every other day or so, depending on the coding that needs to get done. Nothing in the server is guarenteed to be final, and things will most likely change.

EVERYTHING:
– Finish plugin remake
– Add more gadgets
– Add more ranged weapons (Fix bow, add concussion ball)
– Add potions.
