ABOUT THE SERVER:

The Vortex SMP is a modded, factions-based SMP built to be played with other people. With over 150 mods, you're sure to never run out of things to do. We picked these mods by hand, trying to retain a fantasy/steampunk feel to the game. The base Minecraft version is set to 1.19.2, and we will not be changing it, We can, however, change what mods are in the pack. If you ask one of the admins, or the owner of the server, we're sure to honestly consider adding or removing some mods to the server, if your reasoning is valid.

ECONOMY:

Using the Lightman's Currency mod, we are able to create and use a coin-based currency of varying values to exchange for good and services from other players. Many players have full-time shops. Near the spawn area, you may find a small building. That small building is one of our player's shops, Cosmic. Cosmic can help you in all sorts of ways. He sells decent gear, if you have the funds necessary to purchase it, and he also sells carious items like food, potions, or artifacts. Cosmic can help you throughout your time here in the server, not just at the start. Using the Tetra mod, Cosmic can forge you stronger and stronger weapons as you grow into them, so long as you bring him the materials necessary.

-Origins
The Origins mod, paired with several other Origins addons, gives you the opportunity to be born as something unique, whether you wish to take to the skies, walk through walls, or take a dip in the Nether Sea.

-Create
Create, paired with several addon mods, allows you to build complex contraptions, from cuckoo clocks to giant world-eating mechs.

-Farmers' Delight
Indulge yourself in a vast expanse of recipes, from hamburgers to literal magma drinks! Many foods give buffs, and you can find and cook an Eternal Steak, so you never run out of food!

SO HOW DO I JOIN?

To join, please join our Discord Server (Linked at the top of this post) and fill out the application in #applications! Once you've done that, an admin will let you know how to join the server, download the modpack, etc.

Event:

In less than a month, we will be hosting a public arena tournament! All personal gear is allowed, including health boosts, totems on undying, and other various charms. Abilities from the Origins mod will be restricted, as to make the tournament more fair to all players. The arena we will be hosting the tournament in has already been built, so come check it out!

We are a 1.19.2 modded server that began on 12 Aug 2024! Our players mostly consist of teenagers. Our server is small, and any new faces will always be given a warm welcome! Some of the server's feature include, but are not limited to:

Factions and Chunk Claiming:

Not into playing solo? Join a Faction and team up with other players! Each faction can claim a certain number of chunks. There are three main factions, presiding over the sea, the sky, and the earth. You are not confined to these factions, however, as any player can create their own faction. Each faction has handy settings you can mess around with to ensure your faction is secure, like disabling mobGriefing within you area!

Origins:

Bored of the same old Minecraft experience? With the Origins and Origins++ mods, you can choose from over 100 unique species to become, each with their own pros and cons! If you find out that your origin isn't as cool as you thought it would be, you can change it using an Orb of Origin, sold at our player-run public shop near spawn!
