HARDWARE & SETUP
Alongside our amazing community, we also boast a fully self-hosted dedicated machine for the server, running modern blazing-fast hardware topped off with carefully tweaked server-sided optimization mods. This ensures minimal impact of lag while maintaining vanilla parity and allows our players to focus on what matters the most: gameplay. Furthermore, this setup allows us to have room for expansion, with a future plan of providing an accessible test/creative server for the community to plan their projects.

We run a variety of server-sided optimization and QoL mods to enhance the player experience. Rules:
- Inappropriate messages including: Racism or any otherwise unnecessary discrimination, profanity, vulgar references, sexual references and/or innuendos are not allowed, and should be kept to an extreme minimum.
- Bug abuse is not allowed. This includes the use of any obviously unintended feature. If you find a flaw on the server, please report it.
- Macroing, use of autoclickers, and any sort of "passive-play" is not allowed.
- Visiting locations under construction without direct staff permission is against the rules.Scamming, in any sense, is against the rules.
- New buildings must be a minimum of 5 blocks away from existing buildings and/or barriers. Buildings built during or after v6.2.0A not following this rule are subject to removal.
- Griefing and stealing is not allowed. If you are griefed, contact an Admin or higher, and they will roll it back.
- Killing a player in their own home is not allowed. This is defined by a structure owned by a player including the vault of the player who owns it. This protection extends to the extent to which land is obviously owned by the player, usually denoted with a physical barrier.
- If a structure is not obviously owned by someone, i.e., having claim signs or other items that denote personal ownership, it is not subject to grief protection.

Custom World
The map of Alathra is completely custom, designed from scratch using a combination of tools to encourage exploration trade and geopolitics. The world consists of continents separated by oceans and is divided into four temperature zones. Along with enhancements to vanilla biomes, the map also includes many new biomes such as red sand deserts, tropical beaches, calcite mountains, giant spruce forests, mangrove islands, prairies, steppes and more! There are also landmarks that can be found throughout the map including volcanoes, salt flats and underground rivers.
Custom Plugins
Alathra has its own dedicated team of developers who are consistently develop new plugins and features that give Alathra a unique feel that we guarantee you won't find on other servers. Some examples include lockpicking, a custom war system, character cards, medieval weapons, a fast travel port system, regional resources and so much more!
Movecraft
Movecraft is a plugin that allows you to create moveable ships, from small fishing boats to large Man o' Wars! Fill your ships with chests for trade or line them with cannons for war. The version of Movecraft Alathra uses is also specifically written and configured to allow for naval combat.
Brewing
The Brewery plugin allows you to create many different interesting brews as well as the many custom brews that have been made by players. Become your town's barkeeper! Experiment to see how many of hundreds of custom brews you can discover.
