Our greatest inspiration is the Hermitcraft server, and we put a lot of focus on fostering a tight-knit community. Whether you're a seasoned builder, competitive fighter, humble farmer, or simply looking for a place to call home, Onyx SMP offers something for everyone.

Our server has an array of enticing features! From special districts (think shopping, minigames…) to monthly building challenges, quests, special events, and even an MCC-inspired championship!

  • be kind and respectful, this is a place where people are meant to feel safe and welcomed. basically, don't be a dick.

  • no stealing, griefing, cheating, or abusing exploits. With our plugins we can revert any damage and catch the culprit, meaning there's no way people can get away with it.

  • to be able to join the Onyx SMP you must own a Java version of Minecraft, speak English, and be over 17 years old.

  • no big mob and redstone farms, this is not a technical server, and we wish to retain a stable economy.

Calling this a survival server would be an understatement. Rather this server acts as a way for people to experience power, loss, and greed. Kingdoms are likely to form and with them, so are alliances. Wars can break out, spying can occur and betrayals can happen.

INTENTIONS

This server will at its core be built for the players. You are free to build and conquer any area you see fit. Your medieval kingdom can stretch the whole server if time allows. If the majority of the server would like a change, there will be a vote. Admins are there to serve the players and their wants.

BASIC GUIDELINES

This server is medieval. There is no modern. Nordic, Rustic, etc.. building types are fine but nothing industrial or modern (this also means steampunk). Basically, anything that looks like it could have been built with natural materials is what we're going for. No skyscrapers or car roads. You don't have to be a master builder, it's fine, really.

War is not all-out griefing and chaos. There is a method to the madness.

When your group exceeds 5 players, you can form a kingdom. This will grant you a custom discord rank and a land claim in your desired area.

The world is 4000×4000 to encourage closer kingdoms and more interaction such as trading alliances and possibly, war.
