Fun 1.17.1 Friendly semi-vanilla server with many known data pack tweaks. Features land claiming where you can sell or rent areas! You can even join nations. There is no economy plugin and you pay all the taxes in Iron Ingots.

Amalthea is a trading-focused Minecraft server with few rules. It is based on ideas from land claim servers, anarchy servers and civ servers but it doesn’t fall within any of these categories. The mechanics of the server aim to disincentivize PvP, and incentivize cooperation while also allowing for a lone-wolf playstyle for those that prefer it. Griefing is discouraged but completely allowed. With the exception of our land claims plugin, there are no other commands that you need to learn but there are quite a few unique mechanics as the server runs about 12 custom made plugins.

Server mechanics:
* Fully reworked PvP system. PvP skills are not really required to win a fight, the main determinant is how far each player is from their base. You could win a fight near your base without even clicking. * Land claims. (GriefPrevention) * Block breaking and crafting recipes have a chance to fail and you need to keep practicing to reduce it and be more efficient. The game is effectively more grindy than vanilla Minecraft, and materials will be more rare than in vanilla. * Trading chests for item exchanges. *In-game explanation of server mechanics and rules in the form of chat tips that you’ll periodically receive until you acknowledge them. * Mending gets consumed to reset the repair cost of items but may randomly cause one of the other enchantments on the item to lose one level. * Anti-lag system that freezes the AI of mobs, reduces spawn rates, culls big herds and breaks redstone machanisms to keep TPS high, without admin intervention. Our intention is to automatically moderate player bahaviour based on server TPS and not have to go around and tell players what they are allowed to do and what they are not. * Anti-cheat. (we own two of them and we’ll be testing which one is better) * Right click with empty hand to sit on stairs. * Shrines: curse your enemies and/or get blessings for yourself by offering materials. * See the distance between you and a treasure map. * Item duplication prevention. Skills
There are 8 skills:
– A carpenter
– Miner
– Blacksmith
– Farmer
– Fisherman
– Warrior
– Archer
– Wizard
Each of them is pumped by performing certain actions – for example, Carpenter for crafting wooden items and chopping trees, Farmer for harvesting and roasting meat.
The minimum skill level is 0, every player starts with it. The maximum is 20.
Initially, the possibilities of a player without developed skills are quite limited, many crafting and actions are not available (for example, you cannot plant potatoes with a farmer’s level 1).
Skills are not easy to develop, so it makes sense to assign responsibilities.
The more developed the character, the more difficult it is for him to learn new skills.
Hunger
On our server, the player loses his satiety much faster than in the vanilla version, so food is in great demand.
Development and limitations
– Initially low chance of getting drops from blocks (not only natural, but also set by other players!
– With the development of the corresponding skill (for wooden blocks – a carpenter, for grown crops – a farmer, etc.), the chance increases to the usual one.
– Crafts are unlocked with the development of a skill. Example: iron tools are unlocked at level 4 Blacksmith. If the craft is not available, you will see the corresponding “Recipe” that says when the craft is opened.
General Tips
– Playing alone is much less interesting than playing together. It will take too much time to get food, there will be no time to develop other skills.
– Early aggression is not a good idea. Crafting normal weapons will not be available soon, so you will fight with a stone sword at best.
– To check the levels of your skills, write / level in the chat
