Minecraft servers are bloated and ruin the fundamental gameplay mechanics of the core game. Our main server, abbreviated as OSMC, stands for Oldschool Minecraft. OSMC gives you a nostalgic experience for you to reminiscence the past. The only server mechanics added for quality of life purposes are chest, furnaces, and door protections. We want you to enjoy the game without drastically game-changing features. Every player will always be equal, and every player must survive the harsh elements of the world. The usual internet rules apply, with no abuse or harassment permitted – we’re not an anarchy server (though be on the lookout for one soon on Bedrock.)
It started initially in February 2014 as a sister community to r/teenagers, with the modern history of the community developing since February 2018. The community has established itself independent from r/teenagers in August 2019. The server population has grown quite fast with over 12,000 unique players from January 2019 to August 2019.
