Welcome to the Shacknews Middle School!

Shacknews Middle School is an old school SMP server formed around the Shacknews gaming community. Our gaming community has been around since the late 90s. We’re looking for other like minded adults to join our server!

Our community has been running a Minecraft server since the Minecraft Alpha days in 2010. Our server is PvE focused mostly on building projects/bases, redstone farms and just general playing Minecraft with friends, we’re all pretty laid back here. We don’t do server economies or shopping districts, usually shared farms in community areas, ect… Pretty much a vanilla server here, no P2W, server boosting, ranks or anything like that on this server. However this year for 1.21.x we decided to try out mods, our server had been strictly vanilla for years so we thought it would be a nice change of pace!

Our server is currently running a custom-made Fabric Modpack on Java v1.21.1. The modpack could basically be categorized as Vanilla++ with some good QoL mods and a few storage & tech mods thrown in! The world on our server was reset around the release of 1.21, so the world is semi-fresh. There is some development around spawn, but most of the world is pretty much untouched.

In the past we usually reset the world for our server on every major Minecraft release for a fresh start. Contingent on there being major changes that warrant a world reset. With Mojang recently announcing they’re moving to smaller, more frequent updates. We’ll have to evaluate that when content drops come out and take a vote.

Hey there, Minecraft enthusiasts! We're excited to introduce you to Sweetberry, our adults-only, vanilla Minecraft server with a twist. We're running version 1.20.1 and feature custom terrain for an unique survival experience. The server was started while I was bored in a college class, and it turned into a place for mainly two or three people to hang out regularly – although we're looking for more friendly people to hang out.

Note: Due to privacy concerns with Discord, we do not have a Discord server, and will not be creating one.

Our community has been going since December 2021. We do not have any plans to reset the world at all. We want to keep going as long as possible! We encourage our players to focus on long term projects that will last for years!

We are always working hard to create more entertainment and events for players to engage in! The first server of its kind, focusing on making the past the future and bringing back OG Factions as many of you know it, this will include strictly Speed two, Strength two God apple fighting, with Protection 4 armour only, no McMMo or custom enchants.
