1LifeRealm is a hardcore vanilla survival server. It is a vanilla survival server because it includes the vanilla survival experience. Along with additions to your experience such as Dynmap, GriefPrevention, and resurrection ability.
For the most dedicated survivalists. Only wood tools make it so you have to think outside the box when it comes to mining resources . navigating with no coordinates (unless you somehow get a compass) also gives it a old Minecraft feel with that extra layer of difficulty.
