Welcome to the Shacknews Middle School!
Shacknews Middle School is an old school SMP server formed around the Shacknews gaming community. Our gaming community has been around since the late 90s. We’re looking for other like minded adults to join our server!
Our community has been running a Minecraft server since the Minecraft Alpha days in 2010. Our server is PvE focused mostly on building projects/bases, redstone farms and just general playing Minecraft with friends, we’re all pretty laid back here. We don’t do server economies or shopping districts, usually shared farms in community areas, ect… Pretty much a vanilla server here, no P2W, server boosting, ranks or anything like that on this server. However this year for 1.21.x we decided to try out mods, our server had been strictly vanilla for years so we thought it would be a nice change of pace!
Our server is currently running a custom-made Fabric Modpack on Java v1.21.1. The modpack could basically be categorized as Vanilla++ with some good QoL mods and a few storage & tech mods thrown in! The world on our server was reset around the release of 1.21, so the world is semi-fresh. There is some development around spawn, but most of the world is pretty much untouched.
In the past we usually reset the world for our server on every major Minecraft release for a fresh start. Contingent on there being major changes that warrant a world reset. With Mojang recently announcing they’re moving to smaller, more frequent updates. We’ll have to evaluate that when content drops come out and take a vote.
