We are Playhouse SMP. An established community, always looking for like-minded people to play Minecraft with us. We are a vanilla survival Java server for adults (18+), with some non-invasive plugins like invisible item frames and player heads. Are you looking for a friendly and tight community? This is it!
About four years ago, a group of players who met through different servers, was looking for a place to hang out and play, but never really found it. As we were all in our 30s, and have less time to play than our younger counterparts, we needed a steady place where we could play at our own pace. We were tired of servers shutting down, and resetting maps just when we were getting started, leaving us to have to start over again.
Because of this, we decided to create our own server. A steady server that is still there, even when you are unable to play for a week or even longer. A server where you know the other players because they don't change all the time. After we founded the server, we thought it would be fun to include other like-minded people. And so we did.
We have been growing steadily since we started in June 2020. Right now, our player-base is about 32% European-based, 48% North America, and 20% from Asia, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. The majority of our players is between 25 and 50 years old. A rough estimate would suggest 30% of us are 30+ and 50% is between 20 and 30 years old.
This group is about to start its 6th world together! It's a varied group, where everyone can play however they like. Some build big communal farms for everybody to share, like iron, slime, wool, enderman for exp, etc. Others start an economy with shops and private farms. In any case, we tend to help each other. There are often server-wide events, either organized by staff or by other players. Right now, the events server is hosting the April Fool's snapshot while we wait for reset.
Our server is on a dedicated host located in the United States, which provides us with excellent performance and stability. We're currently playing with 10 chunks of render distance. We use Discord to stay in touch, coordinate projects, and just chat casually, even when we are unable to login.
