The Old Frontier is an ongoing fantasy Minecraft roleplay server where player choices help shape a persistent world. Blacklight SMP is a survival world built from the ground up, with a fully custom plugin that adds hundreds of mechanics on top of vanilla survival. It plays the same on Java and Bedrock too, with full crossplay through Geyser, so you can bring your friends without worrying what edition they use.

The server leans into factions and land control, so you can found a faction, claim territory, set faction homes, manage a shared treasury, and go to war if that is your thing. Claimed land is protected, and faction-wide buffs make it worth playing together instead of just doing your own solo grind.

Java and Bedrock crossplay is enabled, and Lantern SMP runs on 1.21+. This is a community-focused survival server built around a pretty simple idea: make a permanent world where people can build, hang out, and keep the same world for the long haul.

The overworld will never be reset. As the server grows, the world border will expand while existing builds and player history stay intact. If you like long-term projects, shared towns, and actually seeing a world evolve over time, that's the whole point here.

Lantern is meant to stay friendly and chill. Griefing, stealing, cheating, and toxic behavior are not allowed, and land claiming helps you protect your builds.
