Hey everyone! — Welcome to the awesome world of Sotora – home to the legendary tales of Alfred and Geir…. ❤️

Vision — It’s kind of a semi-anarchy server. We’ve got a few rules, but mostly it’s just about having a good time without too much of “rule this and rule that”. Also, I am currently the only guy working on this server so don’t expect it to be super fancy. The server is intended to be simple, but with enough cringe, jokes, bad taste, etc. to keep you coming back for more!

True Survival — Survival is key here! Dying means a 1/3 reduction of your currency ( LUX/☀ ), as well as mcMMO levels. So don’t just jump off a cliff, like you usually do!

Note — There are certain things on the server that might not be appropriate for small children. I’ve tried to make it somewhat friendly for all ages, but yeah, your child will probably not get a nightmare from this, but the cringe and jokes can be, yeah, highly inappropriate at certain times…..

Second Note — This server has a Playtime Limit System. Each player has a limit of one hour playtime per day. This was originally meant to make me go outside and touch grass once in a while…….

Non-commercial Forever — This server is completely non-commercial and will always stay that way!

Friendly Community — Right now we are a group of 3 close friends that play regularly.

This is a dedicated 1.20.4 survival server with a handful of changes that really add to the survival experience while mitigating some of the less-fun aspects of the game. While it isn’t a purely vanilla experience, the goal is to provide something close to a vanilla experience with modifications that we think add a necessary challenge for veteran players, as well as some quality of life changes that remove some of the more tedious or illogical aspects of the game.

The server is running Fabric with a handful of mods and data-packs with some changes to the base game rules. The best part is, the server does not require you to download anything and can be connected to using a vanilla client.

Some of the changes we’ve made include:
– No natural regeneration
– Requirements to eat a variety of food
– Hard difficulty
– Improved Dungeons and other structures

The server map is running Terralith along with a variety of custom structures from a few different mods. On the QoL side, we have things such as Treefall, expanded recipes for the stone cutter, cauldron concrete, and minor healing benefits from using a bed.

We are a nice, chill community who are looking for more players!
We are a towny server playing on an Earth map (1:1000)!
Bedrock players are able to join!

What features do we have?
– Towny (claim your own town and even nation)
– PvP is on everywhere (except town homeblocks) – this instead of war
– Custom enchants (with active and passive skills!)
– Skills that you can level up and give bonus stats and active skills
– Custom pets that you can level up and give amazing boosts!
– Jobs to earn money
– Chest & inventory sorting
– BestTools (Automatically choose the best tool)
– PvPManager (no escaping fights!)
– Strong anti-cheat & x-ray
– No griefing (exploded blocks respawn, except for chests & barrels) – so able to raid towns but not grief!
– No P2W!!! Donators get server-wide boosts they can use
– And more! feel free to suggest anything you like to be added

More features:
– Realistic seasons: there are now seasons that alter the map in various ways!
– Graves: when you die, your stuff will go inside a ‘grave’, so not all is lost when you fall into lava!
– Harbor: be able to skip the night if atleast 50% of online players sleep
– Nerfed phantoms: phantoms have much lower health an do less damage
– BottledExp: you can store your exp, all you need is glass bottles!
– Reforges: spend some money to give your items a cool bonus effect!
– DoorsReloaded: double doors now open & close together
– ChatItem: show your items by linking them in the chat!
