Scriptures Survival: A Brief Overview

— Scriptures Survival is a unique Minecraft server blending traditional survival gameplay with the immersive elements of an Alternate Reality Game (ARG). Players embark on a journey to discover and solve intricate puzzles, each leading to powerful, mystical rings. These rings grant special abilities and offer hints about the location of the fabled Grand Scripture.

Key Features:

Intricate Puzzles: Solve multi-step challenges involving ciphers, coordinates, and riddles hidden throughout the world.
Mystical Rings: Each season, a new ring can be found, offering unique powers and clues to the ultimate mystery.
Game Master Role: The player who finds the ring becomes the next season’s Game Master, designing puzzles for others in collaboration with the server’s developers.
Decay Mechanic: Each time a ring is found, the world experiences a slight decay, adding a layer of challenge and balancing the gameplay.

The Game Master is the player who finds the current season's ring. Once the ring is found, a short break period follows to set up for the new season. During this time, the Game Master:Once the season starts, the Game Master:Additionally, the Game Master receives the ring’s clue that leads closer to discovering the Grand Scripture, which they can choose to share, sell, or keep as leverage.

Selects the Next Ring: Chooses the ring for the upcoming season.

Designs Puzzles: Collaborates with developers to create the puzzles leading to the next ring.

Once the server starts the Game-Master:

Holds Power: Acts as the authoritative figure over the land, akin to a one-person United Nations.
Establish Rules: Enacts new rules and regulations for the server.
Establish Peace: Has the authority to enforce peace among players.
Recognize Nations: Can officially identify and recognize player-created nations.
Declare Events: Organizes server-wide events or challenges.
Distribute Resources: Allocates special resources or items to players or regions.
Impose Taxes or Tributes: Sets taxes or tributes for players or nations.
Control Weather: Temporarily changes the weather patterns on the server.
Initiate Quests: Creates and assigns special quests or missions for players. (Includes bounties)
Bestow Titles: Grants honorary titles or ranks to players for various achievements.
Setup Trade Routes: Establishes or modifies trade routes between player settlements.
Manage Economy: Influences the in-game economy by setting prices or controlling the supply of key items.

Can Be Overthrown: The Game Master can be overthrown by other players.

Ring Must Be Taken: To overthrow the Game Master, their ring must be taken from them, transferring their power and responsibilities to the new ring bearer.

About Experium SMP:

The Experium SMP is a whitelisted 1.20 vanilla server (1.21 soon). We recently started a brand new season with a fresh world and we are looking for new players to join us! This server is all about having a fun and dedicated community of players where everyone feels included and actively contributes. So if you're looking to enjoy playing Minecraft on a long-term dedicated SMP, look no further than Experium.

We expect to update to 1.21 very soon, but we are currently just waiting on the vanilla tweaks datapacks to be updated first (expected within 1-2 weeks). We already have the new blocks enabled and we have been keeping our builds within a 1500×1500 block area so that we can reset the chunks outside of that once we update to include the new trial chambers (you can still travel outside of this area). So far, we have just been enjoying the early game and developing our builds around spawn, and just went to the end last week.

This SMP is very much inspired by the Hermitcraft server, as I am a long time fan and am constantly motivated by their community and content. While we aren't trying to replicate Hermitcraft completely, we do play with several iconic features of their server, including several vanilla tweaks datapacks, a clearly defined shopping district, and a big emphasis on community and group events/projects.

This makes for a great time and encourages members to contribute. But this also requires members to get along with the community, make smart decisions, and play actively. Show respect to all other members and their in game creations (There is a 0 tolerance policy for any hate speech, slurs, or disrespect towards how people identify)
No griefing other members (know the difference between fun pranking/trolling and straight up griefing)
No taking the resources of other members unless given permission
No use of cheaty mods/hacks such as x-ray (things like optifine, minihud, etc. are completely okay)
No duping of blocks/items aside from TNT
Try to keep builds mostly lag friendly if possible and don't build lag inducing builds in common areas

This is a 1.20.1 and updating server, with an emphasis on fair moderation (appeals, and punishment only for true rulebreaks), extreme longevity (absolutely NO resets, you could play here for years!) and inclusivity of all people and playstyles. GREAT PERFORMANCE!

Our vanilla+ modpack with many optimisers ensures minimal client-side lag. Server-side, we have 16 gigs of ram + a Ryzen 9 7950x CPU.

The server operates on a Safezone-Borderlands system, where a continuously expanding 4k-radius area centred on spawn has claims, graves and disallows (unless with consent) griefing, killing and stealing. The Borderlands is much more resource-rich but allows griefing, killing and stealing and has no claims or graves.

THE ORIGINS MOD!

We have a very special mod, the Origins mod! Along with the 9 base origins, we have roughly 61 custom origins, all carefully reviewed so that we can make sure each one is balanced, unique and well designed! You can even suggest custom origins, but it'll have to be high quality. Of course, if you don't like this mod, or don't like your current origin, you can always pick Human or use your free two changes/craft an origin change.
